About Harperrig Fisheries

Harperrig Fisheries Ltd was set up by The Rt. Hon. Lord Morton, Mr. G. Hamilton ( Cairns Farm ), Mr. G. Walker and Mr. C. Grieve. It is the intention of the proprietors to develop and maintain the reservoir as a first class brown trout fishery.

Lying in a moorland setting Harperrig has a wild and remote feel to it and this has always been one of it's attractions to both local and visiting anglers alike. On a quiet summer's evening, when the wind dies away, the setting sun washes East Cairn in an orange glow and fish are rising all over the surface it is easy to forget that the sprawling, bustling city of Edinburgh is less than ten miles away.
